03 moved at the head of the group, pushing them further with each step, not caring if anyone was getting exhausted or even hot from the scorching sun that now loomed above them. He had been trained to survive in such harsh conditions, and they certainly did not disturb him now. Rather, he relished the mild challenge openly. He did not know where they were going. Maybe, it was to the thing that all those wolves called Paradise. Maybe, it was nowhere at all, but his paws never stopped gliding across the burning sand.
Rani had managed to keep up with the small pack without even the slightest gasps. He had noticed how many of the pack had been utterly stunned by his running speed, but he had chosen not to reveal to them anything about himself. He was with the wolf 03, and he was on the right track. Neoma was with him, too, and that made things quite easier for him. In all honesty, he was rather appalled that the wolf had chosen to stay with him even now, but he was glad that she had.

Lullaby panted heavily, her thick coat didn't allow for such weather. "0-03..." she stopped looking at the wolf. "03!" she yelled, looking at the pack she was near tears as the heat pounded on her back and the sand burned at her paws. "I well I mean its too hot can we please stop" it was obvious that Lullaby was burning up she was panting heavily and whimpered.

Neoma trotted in the hot sand with relative ease. The heat had never been her favorite but she could stand through it. But when she caught a glance at Lullaby it was obvious not everyone could. She went to the white wolf's side and took a look at her. She looked absolutely miserable and tears welled in the small wolfs eyes. She looked back up to 03 "I agree 03. We really should be traveling through the dessert at night where it is cold and wolves like us can pass with ease." she said offering her opinion. She looked back at Lullaby "Besides that, its obvious from Lullaby's coat that she is an arctic wolf." she said looking back at 03 once more and taking a small step forward "If this is hard for anyone, its her." she explained. She didn't want Lullaby to suffer from heat exhaustion, that would only slow down the small pack more anyway, surely 03 would see that. She knew that he wanted to get things done and get things done now but sometimes waiting for a better moment in time was the best answer.

03 snarled at Neoma's and Lullaby's suggestion, "The heat isn't that bad..." However, after looking at the white wolf and how miserable she seemed to be, he growled softly to himself. Perhaps, Neoma was right. Even if he could keep going for a long time, the young white wolf could not do the same. "Fine, but we need to go a little further first... We've been moving through the sand for long enough that rocks should start coming up soon. We need to find a cave. Her laying in the sun is going to be just as bad as her running in it." Pointing his nose forward again, he muttered, "Let's go..."

Lullaby panted a bit more, she felt bad for holding them back from paradise, but this heat was killing her. She saw in-front of them a sand dune. She didn't want to complain anymore but she could feel the heat sink into her skin and she could feel herself grow dizzy quickly. She wanted to say his name 03 two simple words but she couldn't, when Lullaby opened her mouth it was dry. Lullaby slowly lowered herself onto the ground panting.

Neoma walked a long side the white wolf while keeping her eye out for some kind of shade. She was starting to worry a little when none came into her view but she had no doubts that the group would find something. Panic spiked in her chest when her friend suddenly started to drop to the sandy ground. "Whoa there..." she whispered softly and leaned her body into Lullaby's to make sure she didn't suddenly collapse. She helped the smaller white wolf to the floor and stayed "It's ok Lullaby, just rest." she cooed softly. Her friend hadn't said anything but she was sure she was feeling guilty for this. After a moments pause she stood again "We need to cool her off, lets try this instead." she said and started to dig into the hot sand making sure not to hit anyone with the paw fulls. Small dessert animals often dug under the sand to escape the suns heat, if she dug far enough they would be able to find some cold sand and have Lullaby lay in it for a little so they could move again. It didn't take very long to reach and she made a small hole for Lullaby to lay in. "Here Lullaby, lay in this." she directed walking around the small hole so her shadow casted over it, before turning to 03 "This will only cool her down for a second, do you think you can carry her, or do you want me to do it?" she asked. It wasn't as if Neoma couldn't carry her but she thought maybe it would make Lullaby happy to be carried by 03.

Lullaby rolled into the hole, she didn't believe paradise could even somehow be related to a place of heat, no beauty could reside in the death trap. The pit offered some coolness and relived her for a moment, hey tired eyes looked up at the pack, in a way she felt horrible for making them wait. 'go ahead..." she said softly, not in the 'leave me behind' way, she honestly wanted them to make it and by waiting for her she knew they wouldn't.

03 growled softly at the interruption. He could feel his old self complaining in his mind to leave the weak behind him in the sand, but much to his own surprise, he stepped forward and stuck his nose into the hole under Lullaby's stomach, rolling her onto his back. "Neoma, the heat is still dangerous to her. We need to hurry. Do you think we can run?"
Rani observed the male wolf curiously. If that wolf was going to lead them to the gates of Paradise, he was starting to show it rather well. Rani knew that the wolf to open it would have to have certain qualities, and it was obvious that this wolf had those qualities. He sniffed the air in wonder, and then, he smelt something. "Hey, I smell an animal... If there is other life out here, then that means there has to be shelter of some kind nearby." He hoped that the others did not question his keen sense of smell. He was wanting his secret to last as long as possible.

Neoma instantly gave Rani an odd look as the statement that an animal was near was made. How was a human able to smell something before any of the three wolves did? Her ears twitched and she slowly turned back to 03 "Yes, we can run, if Rani and I fall behind we will follow the smell of this...animal." she assured saying the last part looking, once again, at her general. The dark furred she wolf stood back up "Lets move." she stated sternly looking forward and starting on the run.

Lullaby could hardly move, her eyes fought to stay awake, why would paradise hide from wolves? Who would open it? could all wolves have to work together to open it? she shook her head and that was enough to make her pass out. Soon Lullaby's head was pressed against the back of 03's neck and she body was slipping off his back.

03 growled as he felt Lullaby's body start to slip from his red-brown back. He ran faster, but he kept his elevation steady, so as not to create bumps that could knock Lullaby off him fully. He adjusted his own back to realign her properly. "See anything yet?" he asked Tumainii and Rani.
Rani shook his head, "Not yet. Tumainii?" He frankly hoped the white wolf died. She was weak and a burden, but at the same time, he wondered if it would affect 03, the chosen wolf. It could hinder them from entering Paradise.

"No, nothing yet..." she replied but then started to notice small odd looking bushes "but we must be close." she spoke up again. She kept her nose to their air, she didn't smell any water, only sand and the animal Rani has mentioned. Her ears perked and she saw a tree, a very dead tree, but a tree poke up from the dunes. It was better then nothing right? "Wait, look there!" Neoma called out and pointed north east with her nose.

03 saw the tree next. A spike of hope filled his heart as he charged in that direction. Where there were trees there were probably water and life. That could be where the animal Rani had mentioned was as well. He adjusted Lullaby once again before increasing his speed once more. The sand stung into his paws, but he did not care in the slightest.
Rani smirked. He should have been the first to notice the trees. Then again, the senses of wolves were stronger than his could ever be. Also, he was rather old. A sly smile came across his face as he ran to keep up with 03, taking almost all of his breath out of him, but he could certainly keep up with Neoma, thank goodness.

Seredin stood on a boulder that protruded from the sand. The heavy rock was steady and he was able look across the land without losing balance. He was almost sure he could see a... a pack of wolves. The desert sand painted the land in a tanning yellow so he was almost positive that he was able to a pack far off in the distance. He shook his head almost wondering if the heat of the place was creating illusions of hope. He looked behind him where his cave and a large puddle awaited him. He was certain that if he ran to where he thought he could see a pack, he would be able to get back. He only hoped that if there was a pack then they would be friendly.

Running at a slower pace then normal to let Rani keep up was...annoying in lack of words. She felt like she wasn't preforming at her best and speed was one of her better qualities. Neoma sighed softly as they all picked up the pace to head for shade until night, but the scent of the animal was growing stronger, would they have to compete? She knew certainly 03 would not mind blood shed but Neoma avoided it if she could, just because she was good at fighting didn't mean that was the answer to everything. She prayed silently that 03 kept a cool head despite the blistering sun but she didn't get her hopes up.
