Writing prompt type for January 2012: Real World Influence (RWI)
Prompt: Look to your left. Whatever is there is now the main character in your newest fantasy story, inanimate or not. Write about its first adventure.

Are we writing about real-world influences or a fantasy?

You can write about whatever you want. Real World Influence is just the prompt type, which involves using something from the real world to write your story. In this case, since you have to write about a real world object going on an adventure, everyone's story is probably going to be a fantasy.
