She quickly cleaned the rabbit of any meat it had on it and then licked her paws and muzzle clean of blood. Eating always made her tired but she looked over to Alex and stood up "Ready?" she asked while taking a few steps toward him.

Alex smirked happily. "Always am. You?"

"Whatever you say, miss." He turned his head in the direction in which they must go, then darted off at a fast, but leisurely speed.

Tumainii sprinted off with him but stayed behind the male wolf. He set a nice pace and she easily kept it up. She shadows leaked on to the ground and passed over her fur as she weaved through the massive pine trees. The orange color of the pine needles on the ground, indicating they were dead, made her think of home. But this forest was no were near as high up or rocky.

Alex felt at home as he made his way through the maze of trees. He turned back to her as he ran and smiled with utmost kindness. Then turned back forward and only slightly increased his pace.

Increasing her pace to match her new comrade she couldn't help but wonder how he even knew where he was going. She also wondered how long it would take before they were out of this maze and safe on the plains. Getting lost was not something Tumainii did often, as she made small mental notes of rocks and odd looking trees, but this forest seemed different, everything looked the same. It gave her the creeps. "I know we have just started." she barked quietly "But how long do you think it will be until we reached the plains?" she asked, tilting her silver colored head.

He cocked his head toward her and said with enthusiastic optimism. "I don't honestly know. I don't pretend to know my way around this forest, but I'm not exactly keen in the time area." He tried to reassure her with a confident smile.

Tumainii felt a peg of shock when Alex basically told her he had no idea where he was or where he was going. She stared at him with disbelief but choose not to say anything, after all being lost with someone was better then being lost alone. And as far as she could tell they were just running in a straight line. Still, this forest seemed to have no end.

He silently thought inside of his head on direction. Alex knew that they were slightly changing direction, so he diverted it back on course. They then came across a break in the tops of the trees. He could see the breath-taking night sky and the elaborate yet distant details of the curves of their shining friend that accompanied them. He could close his gentle eyes and feel exactly where he was going. He had spent months in the woods. A few times he had even made his way out, but every time he had he felt that these sad and dead woods were his. He felt at home here. Now, he only wanted to help this female. She was nice and kind, and he felt it his duty to assist her in any way possible.

It was already night time and they were still running through the woods. She panted softly, and her limbs were starting to ache. 'This wolf, he is so quiet...' she commented. He had hardly said a word to her, maybe he was just concentrating? Either way, the night could be disorienting after traveling all day. Things look different in the night and she was worried they might start to go in circles. "The sun has set." she pointed out though she was sure he had already noticed "Perhaps now would be a good time to stop and rest." She suggested. She wasn't sure how close they were to the plains so she figured she would ask.

The female's voice brought him out of his deep thought. He looked at her almost as if she had suddenly appeared out of nowhere, yet he knew she had been there the whole time. then he gathered himself again and said, recollected, "Of course, I apologize, I should have realized sooner that you need rest." He smiled gently. He walked over to a large rock and sat beside, not yet ready to sleep, but just to rest his legs.

When her new escort suddenly whipped his head around as if she had startled him she jumped a little before realization washed over him. He must have been deep in thought she figured simply and had forgotten about her. He suddenly stopped, apologizing before laying near a rock to rest. She tilted her head a little, he was a little odd but he was nice enough. 'I suppose everyone is a little socially awkward at first...' she thought calmly and walked a good ten feet away from him before circling once and laying down morphing into the shape of a fuzzy ball. "Do you think there are any others in these woods?" she asked softly.

He chuckled at the prospect. "I don't think so. I might get a stray in here maybe once every two months. I'm not worried about a pack taking my forest. Wolves avoid this place because it's very hard to pick up a scent here, but I've just happened to have adapted to it. None of the birds chirp here, there are no cicadas or fireflies. It's very quiet here. Some might even find it eerie." He gave a small quiet laugh. Then he paused and looked at her with almost lonely eyes.

She tilted her head a little. A place with no others? Didn't he ever leave it in search of a new pack? Perhaps he was like her though, she shouldn't be so quick to think. Still the look in his eyes now told her other wise. "Don't you have a mate?" She asked softly "Or, even leave this area to go and talk with others?"
