Dusk City: The City Of The Snake Clan (Ace, OPEN)

[Kyuu]

A trio of wolves were currently making their way through the dying landscape. A silver and black she-wolf led them quickly, just wanting to be in the city so they could get things over with. Riku's black paws quickly struck the earth before stopping suddenly.
The mostly sand-colored wolf stopped just short of running into the lead one before spinning in a circle. She turned back to the leading silver wolf before speaking. "Ma. Riku? Why'd you stop?"
Riku shook her head, staring at the city nestled at the bottom of the deadly mountain. "The City Of Dusk. The home of the Orochi Clan."

[Ace]

Xalym glanced down at the pass it would take to reach the foreboding city. Rocky crags littered the trail. "Who would want to make a city in this terrible place?" she muttered to herself. Nevertheless, she took the next step forward, and the rock shifted beneath her. It was going to get really dangerous really quickly. "Riku, is there a safe way through?" She did not think there was, but she was patient enough to hope.

[Kyuu]

Maka sat down, trying to regain her lost stamina. She eyed the city before looking expectantly at Riku.
The silver wolf nodded. "I can find one if you give me some time."

[Ace]

Xalym sat back on her hind legs and nodded patiently. "Go right ahead. I can wait." She looked to the sky: It was turning a bright pink now, preparing for the dusk. She thought, "Dusk City, huh? I wonder why they call it that..." When the sun lowered a little more, she might see why, she realized. She hoped they could make it down to the city before dark. Maka looked toward the horizon, watching the sun slowly descend toward night. She had heard of the city's beauty at the time, but had never seen it with her own eyes.
Riku nodded, looking at the ground. She stepped forward, black paws automatically going to keep her steady. She cautiously kept moving forward, weaving her way through the rocky landscape.

[Ace]

Xalym watched the city closely waiting for something extraordinary to happen. Then, something did. As the light faded from the city, the whole town was captured in a white glow, almost ghostlike in form. Strange lights filled the glow, and she knew that this apparition was not some strange science. It was a magic of sorts. After just a minute, the mist vanished. So, this was why was called Dusk City. It was making her really uneasy. What lay ahead of them?

[Kyuu]

Maka stared in awe at the beauty of the scene, finally flopping onto her stomach to relax a bit more as she focused more on Riku now.
The slight silver and black she wolf was a good ways toward the city, so she motioned them to follow. She had left a scent trail for them to follow and hoped the deathly mountain had influence at its base. She yelled something, but was too far away to be heard clearly.

[Ace]

"Maka," spoke Xalym. "Did you hear that?" She turned her head toward Riku. "What was it she said?" Xalym cursed her bad hearing and wished for better senses. Though she was very much a wolf, her senses were not as adept as everyone else's senses were. She had spent too much time with the humans perhaps.

[Kyuu]

maka looked at the silver wolf next to her, then at the one farther away. "All I heard was 'Follow' and 'Scent'. I think my hearing is starting to go."
Riku glared back at them before siting down and howling. She hopped they would understand to come after her.

[Ace]

Xalym nodded, "I guess she found the way. Let's follow her." She treaded carefully amongst the rocks, not wanting to damage her paws but not scared of dirtying them. Suddenly, a familiar sound did come to her ears. There was water nearby. "Maka... is that a lake or a river? I can hear it, now."

[Kyuu]

Maka stopped, halfway off a rock, thinking carefully. "Uh... Yeah! There is one wrapped around the wall of the city. To keep out animals..." She looked toward the city, her ears straining. "I must be going deaf in my old age."

[Ace]

Xalym swallowed nervously before starting, "Is there a drawbridge or something? I can... swim actually." She knew she was one of the few wolves who could. "I could go over there and let down a bridge if there were one." She loved the water than she even loved reading or studying the various cultures of humans. That feel of wetness over her body made her shiver and relax. It was wind made liquid, a perfect caress by nature.

[Kyuu]

Maka slowly made her way down but finally landed next to Xalym. "That would be great. I personally hate swimming. Riku can, but she'd rather not." She laughed a bit, looking over at the fed up silver and black female.

[Ace]

Without needing any further encouragement, she dove into the water, relishing its cold grip on her fur. Her silver eyes opened under the water, and she saw a school of fish below her, minding their own business, ignorant of the journey that was happening above their cerulean world. Her eyes went back up to over the surface, seeking a drawbridge of sorts. Finally, she saw the oaken door and clambered up the cobblestone steps to get to the bridge. A smell came to her. There was a man guarding the bridge, and she was not one to fight. It was time for a few tricks. "Hey guard!" she called. The man turned to face her and saw only a beautiful woman, albeit slightly elderly. "Can you lower the bridge?"

[Kyuu]

Riku grinned at the now soaked female beside her, eyes showing more emotion then she had in quite some time. She shifted to her human form and waited for Xalym to get the bridge down.
Maka sulked, having been splashed by Xalym jumping in, before shaking out her wet fur. She too slipped into a more human look, still wet. "And this is why I hate water..."
