Secrets of the Forest [Dark & Anvil]

Dark walked into their den. His heart seemed to beat slower than ever as he walked over to the darkest corner and laid down. She made him feel so happy and he felt so sad for some reason. He wanted to go over to her and snuggle with her. He wanted to tell her he was sorry and that she should go with out him. She planned on paradise but that was closed to him.

Lyall laid down away from Dark. She figured that he probably needed some time alone. She loved Dark with all her heart. He made her feel beautiful and loved, but she had a secret that she could never tell Dark. She did not what his reaction would be if she did tell him. Lyall thought that Dark might comfort her, but she had a feeling that she was not supposed to tell him. As Lyall was lying by herself, she hoped that he would not go to her. She loved him, but she almost felt sad. Lyall closed her eyes, hoping that sleep would come to her, but it never did. Lyall laid there with her eyes closed, pretending that she was asleep.

Dark turned and looked at her for several minutes thinking of what to do. When he believed that she was sleeping he got up and walked over to her. Circling her a couple of times he thought of what he should do. He sighed softly and pressed his nose to her forehead then laid down resting his head on her neck.

Lyall felt Dark place his head on her neck. When he did that, she snuggled closer to him to show her love for him. She did not know why he made her feel wonderful, but he did make her feel that way. Lyall laid there, not saying a word to him. A thought suddenly crept into her mind: She wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. She hardly knew him, but she knew that she loved him with all her heart. He made her feel absolutely special. Lyall kept her eyes closed and thought about the two of them being together.

Dark could help it but he felt like he forgot something. As he nuzzled Lyall unconsciously he tried to think of what it could be. It came back to him in a spilt second and he nipped her ear. His tail wagged excitedly as he licked her ear affectionately. “Lyall… Lyall… Get up…” Smiling he bit her tail softly and as he let out a rather seducing like growl. “The moon is bright tonight… Why don’t we howl… Together.” Ever so softly he rubbed his nose against hers not knowing what it meant, but knowing its special.

Lyall looked deeply into Dark's eyes and smiled at his seducing smile. "Yes, the moon is beautiful, Dark. I would love to howl with you tonight." She stood up and stood beside him. She rubbed her head into his neck. Her heart was pounding furiously and she wondered if he could hear her. Lyall took a deep breath in and walked to the mouth of the cave, waiting for her lover to join her.

Dark looked at her, the shape of the moon reflecting in his green and blue eyes. Dark leaned against her his black fur brushing against her side. Slowly his tail began to twine with hers, he looked over at her and nuzzled her. He sat down and howled. It was a beautiful sound that vibrated through the trees and their leafs.

The sound of Dark's howl made her shake a little with delight. It was a mesmerizing sound that made her heart sink with joy inside. Lyall lifted her head back only slightly, and howled beautifully as well. The sound of her howl intertwined with Dark's howl, making it sound like one beautiful strong howl in the night. As she howl, a smile formed on her face.
